Barry Sheene Helmet With Chin Hole Honoured by AGV X3000
AGV X3000 to pay tribute to Barry Sheene's rebellious ways.
Barry Sheene, who died in 2003 at 52, was a two-time 500cc world champion and one of the most charismatic riders of all time. He was also known for his rebellious nature, which included drilling a hole in his helmet so he could smoke on the grid.
AGV, the Italian helmet manufacturer, has announced that it will be releasing a special edition of its X3000 helmet in honour of Sheene. The helmet will feature a replica of the hole that Sheene drilled in his own helmet, as well as a number of other details that pay tribute to the rider's unique style.
The AGV X3000 Barry Sheene helmet will be available in stores from March 2019.
